IG has been around since 1974, making it one of the most reputable and largest brokers in the world. Allowing access to over 17,000 markets, covering forex, stocks, indices, bonds, commodities, and binary options, traders would be hard-pressed to “outgrow” this firm. Low spreads are where this broker really shines.

Regional Features:

  • Leverage: up to 1:25
  • Address: 1-6-1 Roppongi, Minato-ku, Tokyo 106-6026

  • Avg. Spread: USD/JPY 0.08 pips
  • Platforms: IG Securities Trading Platform, ProRealTime
  • Japanese language website available

The spread on the USD/JPY pair during the London/New York overlap session averaged a tiny 0.008 pips. This is below the industry average of 0.05 pips for commission-free accounts.

IG’s forex offering includes over 100 pairs, with 19 being yen-related. This includes all the ones you would expect like the EUR/JPY, NZD/JPY, USD/JPY, and so on. There is also access to exotic pairs, such as the INR/JPY and BRL/JPY markets.

The IG Securities platform is excellent from my testing, and ProRealTime is also offered, which has been one of my favorites for years. The IG platform has over 100 technical indicators, fully customizable layouts, and advanced order types. Market research and news is also available on the platform.

The execution speed at FxPro has an average execution time of 12 milliseconds, making it much faster than the industry standard of 60 milliseconds. The firm reports that 84% of orders are filled at the requested price or better.

I really liked the FxPro Trading Platform, as it was versatile and had advanced features that most traders will need. Scalpers have the ability to manipulate price action and scale to examine the market from multiple angles. The platform features over 60 of the most common indicators as well.

The FxPro account that makes the most sense to me for scalpers would be Raw+, which has a minimum deposit of just $100, raw spreads from 0.0 pips, and a $7 round-turn commission per traded lot. There is also the ability to use a Virtual Private Server (VPS) for low-latency execution and stability. This service can cost traders, but it is free to Premium account holders.
