Norwegian traders have a long list of brokers they can trade with, but not all are created equal. I have researched the database of brokers that we have compared to a 250-point system, and found some of the best brokers for Norwegian traders.

Advertising Disclosure
Every review and score on our site comes from independent, hands-on testing — no broker can pay to change them. Brokers pay to be listed on our site; this may affect which brokers we feature and where — never our reviews or scores. How we make money
  • Rankings are not for sale — the order comes from our test scores; no broker can pay for a higher spot.
  • The authority on broker reviews since 2011 — traders have relied on our independent broker testing for over a decade.
  • 80+ brokers tested every year — we test the whole market, so we know the benchmark — and which brokers actually beat it.
  • Every broker takes the same test — one published scoring system: 9 weighted categories, 250+ variables, measured hands-on by our analysts.
  • Every fact is checked twice — a dedicated editor re-verifies each data point, from licenses to spreads, before publication.

While the list could be long, I looked at brokers and made sure they comply with the Financial Supervisory Authority of Norway requirements under ESMA’s MiFID II Directive. After that, I looked for funding options that support deposits and withdrawals in Norwegian krone.

Beyond that, I looked for a full list of tradable assets, with special attention to assets denominated in NOK, and even Norwegian stocks if available. I also tested the platforms in live trading conditions, to check for fees and spreads, and also looked for Norwegian language websites and customer support.

How Did I Select the Best Brokers in Norway?

  • I verified which brokers accept clients from Norway.
  • I checked whether these brokers were authorized to provide investment services in Norway and whether they complied with the Financial Supervisory Authority of Norway’s (Finanstilsynet) requirement to follow ESMA’s MiFID II Directive.
  • I checked for deposit and withdrawal options available and the ability to transact in Norwegian Krone (NOK).
  • I made sure the brokers provide decent ranges og tradable instruments and preferred those who offer NOK currency pairs and Norwegian stocks.
  • I tested the platforms to make sure they were user-friendly and had many functionalities.
  • I also checked whether the brokers had localized resources, such as a website and customer support in Norwegian.
  • Last but not least, I opened a live account with each broker to check their fees and commissions.
